Scam
Today an elderly lady received a phone call supposedly from her bank, they got her a taxi to the BP told her to buy 4 $100.00 items can't remember what but it was paper based, the staff at BP realized something was wrong as they also said they were her bank. Staff used her phone & got onto the bank to ensure they know what's happened & to stop any withdrawals, also called the police so she could report. I was there and drove her to the Wainui Police station but was unmanned. Then took her home told her husband & reminded them both if someone calls saying they are from the bank hang up & call the bank themselves. Thank goodness the staff at Wainui BP realized something was wrong as the lady was unsure about what she was buying but by then she had spent a lot on the slips she brought. Be very careful about things like this.
