Where are the bees?

Hi, I moved to Waiwhetu in February. I'm a keen gardener, growing flowers and vegetables, and I came to realize that I have not seen a single bee this year, bumble or honey. I worry about pollination and what the absence of bees might mean for general environmental wellbeing. Has anyone else noticed this? Thoughts?
