The Government is proposing reforms to three water services in New Zealand. Although this is a Government process and we have limited influence over the outcome, we’re interested to hear directly from you to better understand the views of Lower Hutt about the Government’s proposals.

Head to hutt.city/threewaters to learn more about what the proposed reforms mean for Lower Hutt, and to complete a short survey before 7 April. We’ll use insights from this survey to inform our submission to Parliament when the reform legislation is introduced.

You can also make your own submission – we’ll provide more information about this process closer to the time.

Pathway to net zero emissions in Lower Hutt launched.

The Lower Hutt Climate Action Pathway Te Ara Whakamua o Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai, entitled ‘Our race against time Ka whati te tai, ka pao te tōrea!’ launches today, with the target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The Lower Hutt Climate Action Pathway Te Ara Whakamua o Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai, entitled ‘Our race against time Ka whati te tai, ka pao te tōrea!’ launches today, with the target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

A lead group, consisting of Mana Whenua, local businesses, climate experts and community and Council representatives developed the Pathway through a co-design process.

The Lower Hutt Community is invited to take part in the action by making pledges with steps they intend to take to reduce emissions.
