The Design of Naenae
We have a fantastic talk coming up this Friday night in Naenae!
Ben Schrader will look at design of the state houses and some of the other buildings in Naenae. Why were these places important in the 1940s and 50s and do they remain so now?
Ben Schrader is a Wellington historian who researched the history of Naenae for his MA thesis in history in the early 1990s and remains a strong supporter of the place.
Naenae Library - Friday 12 October, 6pm
Naenae Library also has a special display up ‘Snap Shot of Naenae's Past’. Why not have a wander around the display, hear from Ben at 6pm then grab some kai and stock up on veges after the talk at the Naenae Market!

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
