The Lower Hutt Women's Centre Board of Trustees is looking for new members to join the governance team! The Centre's vision is to support, encourage, educate and provide a safe space for all women to reach their full potential. The Board plays a key role in realising this vision by guiding the strategic direction of the Centre. Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Public Transport fares face 70% increase..
Wellington region users says increases to public transport fares of more than 70 percent would be "ludicrous", and would lead to them working from home more often, or taking the car rather than the bus.
