Waimarie Hutt Valley Croquet Club
Our croquet season is in full swing (pardon the pun) with teams playing interclub and others playing socially on club days. We are a friendly lot and welcome new members. For Golf Croquet Club Days, come along on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday morning at 9.30. Wear suitable clothes for the weather and flat shoes - no heels. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
