Boulcott pupils want action on dangerous bus stop
A pair of school student traffic patrollers have gone straight to the top to get an “incredibly dangerous” bus stop moved away from their crossing.
Boulcott School pupils Harry Martin, 10, and Alex Jamieson, 11 penned a letter to Lower Hutt Mayor Campbell Barry and the city’s councillors asking them to relocate a bus stop outside their school. To access the stop on Ariki St the school bus needs to swing across both lanes of Boulcott St and reverse into it.
Mayor Campbell Barry has thanked the students for raising the issue with him, and said the council will look into the matter.

Speed limits around NaeNae
Hi Neighbors, Just a heads up, I have just received a $170 fine for driving at 50km on Rata Street Naenae on a SUNDAY Morning. I wrote to NZTA pointing out and sending in a photo of sign stating that it was 30km on school days between those hours, but they said that the whole of Rata Street and some surrounding streets are 30km 24/7 and have been for over a year. Did I miss this been advised by council? Always good to be informed. Merry Christmas to all
