Love Tonight, becomes unexpected hit for Hutt Valley musician
Ed Service, who lives in Lower Hutt, was ready to give up his dreams of being a professional musician two years ago.
It had been years since his project, Shouse, published any new music. The last single they released, Love Tonight, had a “lukewarm” reception, the Kiwi muso says.
For some reason, the single has unexpectedly shot out of obscurity. It caught Service by surprise.
In May, BBC dance music host Pete Tong added Love Tonight to his “essential new tunes for 2021” list, despite being released in 2017.
Since then it has taken off and he is expecting a big cheque soon
