Legal clinic at CAB Helensville
Times are tough and they can get more tangled when it comes to legal issues.
Lawyers from Waitemata Community Law Centre are now based at Citizens Advice Bureau Helensville to deliver free legal clinic sessions.
They will provide initial 20-minute sessions to assess and fact gather information from clients.
The clinic is hosted by the CAB fortnightly Tuesday from 10am to noon at its office at 16 Commercial Road.
The next clinics are on April 22 and May 06 as bookings allow.
Clients can fill out the form at the office which are then sent to the law centre to co-ordinate all the necessary bookings and assess criteria.
Following the initial session, a lawyer can choose to take on the case and all the delivery
Self-referral is another option for clients on the law centre’s website: www.waitematalaw.org.nz...
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
60% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
25.7% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
14.3% ... It is complicated
Poll: Should complete designs be shared with the public, or should the community help shape the designs from the start?
The Post recently shared an opinion piece on the Harbour Crossing and why a more democratic approach might be needed 🚗🚲👟
While most decisions sit within the political arena, many organisations—like NZTA—manage long-term projects that go beyond party lines. Politics can sometimes disrupt progress, and the next Harbour Crossing is a big decision that will affect all Aucklanders.
We’d love your thoughts: Should near-complete, shovel-ready designs be shared with the public, or should the community have a hand in shaping the designs from the start?
-
88% Community feedback and transparency is needed.
-
12% No. This would be impossible in practice.

Real Estate Done Right! 🏡✨
A great real estate experience starts with the right agent! Here’s what my clients say about working with me:
💬 “Nicky Horsbrough wins the sale
My wife and I have tried for some time with other agents to sell our 2 x sections in the Helensville area without success.
Nicky took on the challenge of the sale. It did take some time, but Nicky was tenacious, and in the end, we have a successful sale of both properties.
We would certainly recommend Nicky.
Thank you, Nicky.”
