Each summer the Shoreside Theatre presents two genuine Shakespeare plays under the stars in The PumpHouse Amphitheatre. You have the choice of a comedy or tragedy – or both! Generous discounts when booking for both shows.

Romeo and Juliet
This play is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works. In Verona a feud rages between two families, the Montagues and the Capulets. Romeo Montague meets young Juliet Capulet at a ball. The teenagers fall in love and secretly marry. Desperate, Juliet and her friar concoct a plan for her to be with her one true love, Romeo – but at what price?

The Comedy of Errors
Shakespeare’s earliest comedy - two sets of identical twins wander around Ephesus unaware of the others’ existence. Typical of the best farces, they are of course hilariously mistaken for each other in a crescendo of confusions.

Real Shakespeare under the stars in the outdoor PumpHouse Amphitheatre!

Howdy all. Here at Wasp Wipeout we thought we'd give you some information on how to deal with the wasp that most populates urban gardens - the paper wasp.

Paper wasps can be easily identified by their long, drooping back legs and laid-back, slow style of flying.

Asian, Australian and European paper wasps have gradually made their homes around our houses and fences and over the past few years and while they are useful for some unwanted bugs like the great white cabbage butterfly, unfortunately they aren't picky and have been feasting on our monarch butterfly caterpillar and other useful native bugs as well.

At Wasp Wipeout we are working hard to help raise funds to wipe out the most invasive species of wasps - the vespula (common and German) variety which inhabit a lot of our bush areas and regularly invade picnics and barbecues. To help us fight this species you can donate here

If you want to find out more about paper wasps, you can read the story and watch the video here

I have called the council twice and the SPCA once. The SPCA came and said they look ok to them, the council have done nothing which is what I expected. Whilst I'm no fan of neighbourhood chook's I'm also no fan of not caring for them if you have them. This guy doesn't feed them often, they scratch around looking for food. They get off his section and wonder down the street and in and out of mine and other neighbouring sections. My kelpie thinks its huge fun to chase them around the section when they get over the fence. Ive stopped him twice but I've had enough and he can have a free feed next time. Also they are now brining rats and I along with a neater negihbour have had to buy traps as we cant use poison because we both have pets. Don't tell me to try talking to him because I have and he just smiles and ignores me apparently beating him with one if his dead chooks may be considered assault would be satisfying though.
