Fire service urges people not to light fires in lockdown - what do you think?
Fire and emergency NZ is urging Northlanders not to light fires during lockdown, after being called out to 26 fires since lockdown began, including three vegetation fires in Kaitaia alone. Wipari Henwood, area manager for Muri Whenua/Far North says each time there is a call-out, volunteer firefighters risk breaking their isolation bubbles to attend. He urged people to hold off on burning anything until alert level 4 lockdown is lifted. What do you think?
