Overnight Auckland motorway closures: 24 February – 2 March 2019

The NZ Transport Agency advises of the following closures for motorway improvements. Closures start at 9pm and finish at 5am, unless otherwise stated. Work delayed by bad weather will be completed at the next available date, prior to Friday, 1 March 2019. Please note this Traffic Bulletin is updated every Friday.

This affects the: Northern Motorway (SH1), Southern Motorway, Northwestern Motorway (SH16), Upper Harbour Highway, Southwestern Motorway, George Bolt Memorial Drive, State Highway 2.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
