A little movement can really help
If you’re over 65, a little movement goes a long way. There are many benefits to staying active, perhaps most importantly it will help you maintain your strength and balance, to keep you steady and reduce the risk of falls. Live Stronger for Longer have strength and balance classes designed especially for those over 65.
They're fun, social and affordable. Visit livestronger.org.nz to find an approved class near you. Brought to you by ACC, Ministry of Health and Health Quality and Safety Commission.
✨ Wishing you all a safe and joyful holiday season! 🎄
🌟 While I’m taking a well-deserved break, tending to some gardens between the Christmas and New Year public holidays, I’ll be ready to refresh your garden in the new year! 🌱
I will be returning back to gardening on Monday 12th January 2026.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
