If we can provide safe cycleways for students to cycle to school, we can potentially cut morning peak traffic on the roads by up to 10%. It's a concern that while most baby boomers walked or cycled to school, only 3% of secondary students cycle to school today.
Cycling lowers congestion, reduces carbon emissions and provides healthy exercise for students when rising obesity rates among our kids is a growing worry.
