We are looking for four projects in total: one each in North, … View moreNoma here from the Auckland Arts Festival Whānui programme, we are calling for proposals from Auckland based artists across all disciplines who would be interested in working with us to design and deliver an intergenerational project. We are looking for four projects in total: one each in North, South, East and West Auckland regions.
In the past we have had a range of one-off shows, short performance seasons, 3 week long exhibitions and a digital gallery. To provide you with a bit of context as to the scale, this video gives an overview of our 2017 projects.
Selected artists would be paid a fee to deliver their project and have full support from the Festival.

Hungry, wet, cold and stressed is no way to start the school day (if it doesn’t stop them from getting to school) but for over 295,000 Kiwi children living in hardship that is the reality. This can impact their educational growth and lead to a lifelong pattern of underachievement. There is a way to break this cycle; by providing simple things like food, shoes, socks and raincoats, so kids can arrive at school ready and able to learn. KidsCan's aim is to prevent children in hardship from becoming adults in hardship by giving them the start in life they deserve.
Auckland Transport, in partnership with NZ Police Serious Crash Unit, will be engaging with the public at the Big Boys Toys event on the road safety topic of speed and encouraging drivers to slow down and drive within the speed limits.

from a crane at the height of 50-60 metres to demonstrate a head-on
car crash at speed. Dates and times are below:
Saturday, 11 November and Sunday, 12 November: 11am to 11.30am, 2pm to 2.30pm, 4.30pm to 5pm.
Auckland Transport encourages drivers no matter how skilled to check their speed and "Slow Down" to the legal speed limit.
