Huge Northland opposition to mapping Significant Natural Areas (SNAs) across thousands of hectares of private land has resulted in Far North District Council this week formally hitting pause on their introduction.
Thousands of Māori, farmers and other landowners are expected to converge on the council's head office in Kaikohe about lunchtime on Friday.
