In Monday's coronavirus update, Northland has nine confirmed cases, including one in Whangārei Hospital - a much lower number than other regions showing clusters of the virus. Northland's first Covid-19 case, praised for protecting the community, now wants to support other Northlanders who test positive. Meanwhile, residents adjust to the lockdown rules. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
