It's the first week back to work for much of the nation after many took advantage of short weeks and used leave to capitalise on the holiday period. Many managed to escape to their favourite destination for holidays and mini-breaks. Many others found new places to get away from it all.

So how do some of the hot spots stack up, and was yours the best to be in? Where would you return to for a quick weekend getaway this summer?
