On Monday, most of Southland Hospital's 70 junior doctors went on strike.
The Southern District Health Board says it has caused disruptions and some scheduled surgeries and appointments have had to be postponed.

This month is all about supporting our young people, to encourage and empower them to not only be the change-makers and community builders of tomorrow but also the best versions of themselves. To listen to their perspective and remember that it’s not just about what we can teach them, but what lessons they can teach us. After all, the recipe for creating healthy, happy children includes a lot of the same ingredients for building safer, more resilient and connected communities.

Yes this is me skiting while I can with my top 0.7% ranking in the Aussie / NZ Rugby league tipping competition. I started watching League when TV first started in Invercargill mid 60's with the British game. Then when I was living in Sydney 74/75 my girlfriend dragged me off to a Souths pre season Friday night game and from there we went to watch my Easts team , was living in Coogee afterall , and her Souths every week end. I ended up playing the game in the Goldfields of Western Aust when I got back from Africa in 1980 until I headed off to Asia in late 82.
