Winton walkway / bike trail

John from East Invercargill

This morning after it warmed up a little I took the bike in the back of the car for a ride too Winton so I could take it around the Winton walking and bike trail that encompasses Winton. I must say this trail is a credit too Rotary and the people who put in the time and effort to make this trail and an asset for the people of Winton. If you have the time it is well worth the trip and effort too take advantage of this trail. As I say it encompasses all of Winton and accessible from many points. It is 8 kms in length but with so many entry / exit points you don't have to do all of it in one hit. Just park the car near the water town which is pretty central and you can see this tower from many points on the trail. It has plenty of seats and resting places to break up the walk. I cheated by taking the bike and there were places I almost had to switch the battery off and do it the old fashioned way which caused some palpitations but luckily for me I managed too make it without resorting to that. It is a little narrow and windy in parts under tree cover which is nice and there are lots of new and very nice houses being built all over the place plus one old bungalow which took top marks for me.. The lady across the road mowing her lawns gave me that " are you Jack the Ripper on a bike " look so I grabbed a couple of quick snaps and went on my way.. Well done Winton and a change from the Invercargill trails.
As usual clicking on the photo brings it up in a new bigger window..

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
