What should happen with the museum?
Today, options for a Southland Museum and Art Gallery rebuild will be discussed at a workshop.
The museum trust board commissioned strategic planner Tim Walker to help guide the board on the best ways to redevelop the museum. However, his recommendations haven't been made public.

🎉 Exciting news for Southland! We’re getting a brand new museum – the Te Unua Museum of Southland!
⏳ The not-so-great news? It’s still a little way off. The Invercargill City Council has decided to wait until the museum is fully finished in late 2027 before opening, instead of opening parts early at extra cost.
