RUC on Electric Vehicles
Hello
With a flat rate of $76 per 1000km proposed for RUC on all Electric vehicles.
Would mean most EV’s would be paying more to the land transport fund than the equivalent petrol Vehicle.
Example
The Hyundai Kona
The petrol version is stated 6.2 litres per 100 Km fuel consumption.
That would be 62 litres of fuel for 1000 km
62 multiplied by 70.024 cents per litre excise = $43.41 per 1000 km to Land transport fund.
The electric version would be paying $76 RUC for 1000 km
That is over 50% more.
Could this please be brought to the attention of the Government, asking for equality in the RUC for electric vehicles.
Kind regards
Gwyn Upritchard
