Our retail store closed in the COVID-19

Blue Mountain Nurseries

This photo of our Blue Mountain Nurseries team was taken last week to advertise our SALE- it seems a lifetime ago- so much has changed. And yet some things have remained like the pleasure of gardening and being in nature during stressful times.

Our retail store closed in the COVID-19 shutdown just a few days before our eagerly awaited SALE! So for the first time ever, we are running our annual SALE both completely online and in the social isolation of the Hughes family bubble. The Hughes family have been helping people enjoy their garden since 1932 – as a family, we are strong as well as passionate about plants and we will get through this together.

You can now conveniently and safely shop online at our website and your beautiful garden and farm plants ordered from the SALE will be set aside for you until transport options become available.

Getting outside in the fresh air among plants and in the sunshine can soothe the body and mind and lower stress levels. We look forward to offering you a wonderful selection of beautiful plants at sale prices, from gorgeous garden plants, to farm planting selections. Keep safe, and look after one another. Kia Kaha.

Kind regards
Chris Hughes

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
