The SPCA says it is a week away from being able to take in new kittens.
In an article published on Thursday, February 9, SPCA Southland operations manager Richard Hay said both Invercargill and Gore shelters had been forced to turn kittens away because of a lack of space.
Hay said the response from the article had been amazing.
