Police hunt for armed robbers of a cash transit van in Invercargill
Invercargill police are urgently looking for three men, believed to be armed with tasers, who held up an ACM transit van outside a CBD bank on Wednesday. The van was robbed shortly after 9.10am on Spey St, near Kelvin St, outside the Invercargill ANZ.
Police investigating the robbery are urgently looking for a silver Subaru station wagon with vehicle, registration GSP913, which was stolen from an Invercargill address on Tuesday evening. Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call 111, and not to approach, as the occupants are believed to be armed. Read more
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
