For Sale . Rain Water .. CHEAP.

John from East Invercargill

Yesterday in anticipation I set up to collect rainwater.Emptied my tank on the garden . Even got some vegies to plant from Diacks , I did get a funny look but they are under cover so no they won't get drowned. At six the bath was full , the recycle bin , I put them in a bag for later, was full and the tanks was one quarter full. By eight the old rubbish bin I normally use for garden rubbish was full and the tank was almost full so I reconnected the downpipe from the leeward side of the garage , gave all the unused garden which was bone dry a drowning but I now have a problem. There was too much rain and the efficiency of water collection has left me with water to spare and there is even more rain on the way.. Two days from drought to drowning in it. Hope they have had plenty up country which will be good for the farmers and also flush the river with new fresh stuff for Branxholme.
Yesterday I also went around the streets nearby and cleaned the drains off , some were covered solid , to prevent flooding which does happen around here when the drains are covered in rubbish. Something I do in Winter to get rid of the Autumn leaves and rubbish. There are wo or three others that twigged to the need while most drive past with a blank puzzled look as they plough through the flooding oblivious. Now I need to go and pick some more tomatoes. I am starting to look like a tomato , well with tomato and cereal , tomato and coffee , tomato and cake .. yeap you've got the idea. Now that I have bored you all it is time for you to prepare for the snow this afternoon...

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
