It's a time to celebrate new life, to remember those who’ve passed, and to plan for the future. Matariki is a time to spend with whānau and friends – to enjoy kai (food), waiata (song), tākaro (games), and haka.
If you noticed something odd in the night sky on Sunday, you weren't alone.
People all over the country saw a bizarre spiral illuminating the night sky and wondered if extra terrestrials were on their way to earth.
