Hobnails & Hemp Rope: A Talk, Film and Slide show by Pat Morrow on Conrad Kain.
This Wednesday (18th Jan) at 7.00pm we have a very special event for those with an interest in mountaineering, with a talk and film presented by Canadian mountaineer and photographer Pat Morrow on the life and climbing achievements of of Conrad Kain. The film follows the attempt to replicate the groundbreaking 1916 ascent of Bugaboo Spire originally undertaken by Conrad Kain. Pat Morrow will also provide context to Kain’s pioneering ascent, as well as covering Kain's climbing in New Zealand. There will be refreshments and a cash bar, with time before and after the presentation and time for mingling. Admission is $10, half price for West Coast Alpine Club members, students, seniors and unwaged.
