'Dancer' - Documentary examining the life of Sergei Polunin (M Rated)
We have a stunning new documentary starting this week called ‘Dancer’ (M rated) which examines the life and career of ballet dancer Sergei Polunin – who was sometimes referred to as the ‘James Dean of the dance world’.
The film looks at his early days in the Ukraine to his performances in the United Kingdom, Russia and America. Polunin took the dance world by storm and became the Royal ballet’s youngest ever principal, however at the peak of his success, aged 25, he walked away, driven to the brink of self-destruction. This is an unprecedented look into the life of a complex young man coping with global success and all the pressures this entails.
