Electric boating on Kerikeri river, great Christmas present idea
We have just launched our brand new electric boats for hire on Kerikeri river, a fantastic, relaxing way to explore the beautiful river on a silent electric boat. Start from Waipapa landing or from the Stone Store.
Hugely popular in Europe, our electric boats are the very first in New Zealand.
You can book a hire on our website electricboat.co.nz... or you can buy a gift voucher. Vouchers can be delivered instantly by email so this is the perfect last minute Christmas present for anyone in Northland or Auckland - you can be sure they've never done it before!
We have a variety of different electric boats to suit singles, couples, families and large groups. With a maximum of 7 people per boat late groups can take several boats. The boats are so quiet you can chat to people in the next boat without raising your voice. You can also get up close to birds and wildlife without disturbing them.
You can steer the boat yourself and our staff are always on hand to help.
Please check out our website electricboat.co.nz... for lots more info and pictures of all the boats. Book on the website or email hire@electricboat.co.nz if you have questions or need any help.
As this year is so quiet for tourists we really hope locals will support us too. We are offering a special club membership for locals so you just pay a monthly or annual subscription and you can have unlimited use of the boats whenever you like!
To say thanks for showing an interest and reading this far, use code NEIGHBOURLYLAUNCH to get 25% off any hire booked during December.
The discount code doesn't apply to buying gift vouchers but if you pass on the code with the voucher then the discount can be claimed when using the voucher to place a booking.
Some Choice News!
DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.
Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.
For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.
Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?
We hope this brings a smile!
