Ministry of Transport data for 2016, the most recent available on its website, makes for sobering reading – 328 deaths from 286 fatal road crashes, or 0.9 deaths for every 10,000 vehicles.

New Zealand has one of the simplest pension schemes in the world - all you have to do is be old enough and have lived in the country long enough and you can get it.
But that also makes it expensive - about $14.5 billion this year. Jobseeker benefits, by comparison, cost just $1.7b and sole parent support $1.08b.

We are still looking for a gardener. (thank you to those who recommended Blake but he is not going to be able to fit us in long term). We need someone experienced to do spraying etc for a couple of properties in town. Would really appreciate some more recommendations. Thanks very much. Kate
