Makes you wonder

Vincent from Flaxmere

Just bought some meat from pak n sav.

What do they do to make it look nice? I know places soak the meat in water to UP the weight and charge premium prices. But this red dye (?) Is a worry. It's meant to be topside steak, so good meat
But makes you wonder what is it really?

Really? @pak n … View more

One of the ways we support the community is with DWST, our Disaster Welfare Support Teams. These teams are made up of highly committed, multi-skilled volunteers, they have a wide variety of professional backgrounds and are trained to deliver essential services during and immediately after a disaster here and around the country.

Keen on finding out more about the Hawkes Bay DWST Team, we are holding an open night for potential new members - Thursday 25 February from 7-9pm at the Red Cross Hastings Service Centre - 823 Heretaunga Street West, Hastings.

There are some criteria to join the team, to find out more please visit - www.redcross.org.nz..., don't meet the criteria, never fear there are heaps of other volunteering opportunities on our website, so go check them out!

But every day I'm confronted by and even attacked by dogs off leads. The Council told me to carry a stick, but it's the people with the issues - they have more Mental and Psychological Disorders than anyone can shake a stick at. Cunning, cowards, scared, paranoid, anti-social, chicken-..its - mental cases who transfer all their neurosis onto the poor unfortunate dogs.

Cunning and insane ... they know when the dog control council staff aren't working, 9-5, weekends and public holidays.

How stupid are they; the other week I saw one dog at Westshore off the lead taking a dump at the waters edge at the flagged area WTF. Today along the Karamu track in Havelock Nth it was littered with plastic bags of crap just dumped on the grass WTF (no idea why they even bothered putting it in plastic bags with ties if they were just going to drop it on the ground - mental).

I've done my training runs so I'm off to play with some socially sane people for a week or so - feel free to growl and declare there is nothing wrong with your mental health (Yeh Right).
