Full length thermal curtains needed

Julie Neighbourly Lead from Havelock North

Does anyone have any (cheap) 2m drop thermal curtains they don't need anymore? I'm so cold I don't even care if they are mismatched.

I've just moved into a house that has beautiful sun exposure but is freezing at night. I have a heat pump on 23℃, but there is an un draped aluminium glass door right next to it and a wall right in front of it, so there is virtually no heating at night. The curtains on the other windows are all short and summer weight, and I suspect, there is no insulation in the ceiling, despite the slab of polystyrene I can see through the hole in the attached garage ceiling. I managed to acquire a set of thermals for my sons room but the rest of the house is beyond me.

Whoever put the heat pump in should be hung drawn and quartered. They could only have put it in a worse place by putting it in the garage.

I think I'm also going to have to get a window vac. 3 hours with the windows open and they are still soaking wet.

🌉🛶 Early Birds Might Crack This One First… or Not? 🥚🧠

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

A person is crossing a bridge and sees a boat full of people, yet there isn't a single person on board.
How is this possible?

(Susan from Massey kindly provided this head-scratcher ... thanks, Susan!)

19mm plywood needed

Julie Neighbourly Lead from Havelock North

Would anyone happen to have any 19mm plywood offcuts to spare? I need some for shelving.
I need two each of 670 x 260mm and 530 x 410mm, so bigger would be fine. I can cut it down.

🪱🐦 When are you the most productive? 🌙🦉

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Post has been diving into our daily habits, and research suggests being an early bird or a night owl isn’t just a choice—it’s biology! We all have that specific time when our brains finally "click" into gear.

This raises a big question for the modern workplace. To get the best out of everyone, should employers accommodate our natural body clocks? This idea is at the heart of the four-day work week and flexible scheduling movements.

We want to hear from you:
1. When does your brain "click" into gear?
2. Would a flexible (or shortened) schedule change the way you work?
