Plea to stop
If you know of someone who has been randomly returning home with armfuls, boxfuls, bagfuls or boot fulls of off cut pine, could you please ask them to stop taking mine.
I’ve gone, since yesterday, from having enough to last till next months delivery, to having enough for a couple of days.
Luckily I still have enough hard wood to last, but it means using some of next winters supply.
I noticed, on odd occasions, that it seemed to be disappearing, a little at a time, over the past few months, and just figured someone must be a bit desperate, but this time a lot has gone, and I’m really peeved. It’s for my heating, my water heating, my clothes drying, and often my cooking.
I don’t have electric heating, and don’t want it, and, as anyone with a fire knows, firewood this time of year is really expensive, especially if you have to get it urgently, and there are no guarantees it’ll be dry enough to burn properly.
So please, if it’s you, or you know who it is, stop. Just because I live in a “wealthy area” doesn’t mean I‘m wealthy. I can’t afford to supply other homes.
Rant over.
🧩😏 Riddle me this, Neighbours…
I am an odd number. Take away a letter and I become even. What number am I?
Do you think you know the answer?

Camera footage
Hi does anyone in the Raureka Hastings area have cameras on or facing towards Oliphant road that were operating on 27th Feb that could have captured a black hatchback vehicle between 10.25-10.40am travelling down Oliphant road and running over my friends dog. The vehicle dragged the dog and stopped by the shop and got out to have a look then took off. Any assistance be greatly appreciated. Thanks
