Progress being made on Hastings Municipal Building upgrade
The redevelopment of the Municipal Building in Hastings is progressing with earthquake strengthening work set to be completed by April next year, and planning underway for Stage 2 of the redevelopment.
The building was closed more than five years ago for the strengthening works, and since that time extensive consultation has taken place with the community to determine the future of this heritage facility.
The cost of the work is $5.5m and councillors will be asked to fund the work shortly. Council had been planning a community fundraising programme, but that this was taken off the table because of COVID-19.

CHILDREN'S PAGEANT
24 December at 4.00pm at St Columba's Church. A short gathering, involving children and families in telling the Christmas story. Children (and grown-ups) can dress up as angels, shepherds or animals. ALL ARE WELCOME.
