We are after a couple of last volunteers to help us collect tickets at the Hawkes Bay Show this Friday the 25th of October (HB Anniversary day)

Shifts range from 1.5-2.5 hours with the longer shifts being in the morning. Your job will be to smile, greet guests, collect tickets and if anyone doesnt have tickets to point them to the ticket booth.

You will need to be able to stand for your entire shift (so unfortunately no chairs). Anyone under 18 is welcome but you will need a parent or guardian to be there with you during your shift.

There is a little incentive for helping us out :) ...If you are interested please get intouch ASAP either via email amber.mcarthur@redcross.org.nz or call 027 236 0559.

"Kia ora – Brent Pickering from New World Hastings here. Keen to discover a new top drop in time for summer?

My favourite wine from this year’s New World Wine Awards is The Hunting Lodge Expressions Delicate Rosé 2019. I’m excited to crack a chilled bottle (or two) of this with friends over the hot Hawkes Bay summer. It has a nice light fruity flavour, a crisp finish and most importantly, it is super drinkable!

Come into your local New World and explore the Top 50 Gold-medal winning wines – we have winners for every budget. Plus join us for complimentary wine sampling and try before you buy.

A few weeks ago I was given an eviction notice to vacate a residence in Fenwick street, Mayfair within 3 days. This followed a police report I made where the landlord is alleged to have stolen my iPhone. She had 2 keyed entrances plus one entrance through a combination lock from her bedroom into my entrance. But wait...she said she had lost the keys and had forgotten the combination...fishy aye?
Once when I was out of town for 4 days I came home to find my door wide open and the landlord with her bum poking out of the fireplace. I asked her how she had got in and she had said that I had left the door open!...also fishy.
However the stolen phone made a call to my boyfriend 4 days after it was taken. Both he and I know it was who we suspected as the spelling was shocking and she was always asking me to get him to come around to play scrabble with the 3 of us....rather ironic when she could hardly spell more than 3 letter words.
When confronted with the accusation of allegations of taking the phone she had a full-on narcissistic meltdown...not a pretty sight to see someone having what could best be described as behaviour akin to a rabid dog. Hence , I was presented with the eviction notice to move out in 3 days....is this the behaviour of someone who professes to be a Christian? I leave you to draw your own conclusions.
