2018 Cystic Fibrosis Casino Night Fundraiser

Linda from Raureka

The 2018 Cystic Fibrosis Casino Night is on. We'll be offering up the best gambling establishment in town with the friendliest dealers around. We will turn the venue into a place to eat, drink and gamble.

Tickets for this event are limited so tell your friends and please buy early.
You will enjoy nibbles and drinks all evening while you gamble irresponsibly and bid on fantastic gifts/prizes. At 10 pm we'll close the casino and start our live auction led by John Kingston. There will be a silent auction running throughout the evening.

Ticket Price includes entry to the party, auction catalogue, nibbles throughout the night, 5 drinks (beer, wine or soft drinks) and gambling loot. If you run out of drinks or gambling money, additional can be purchased on site.

We’re back for our 5th year to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand - Hawke's Bay Branch. It will be another fun night of gambling, partying and bidding for great auction items. It should be the best year yet and our theme this year is black & white. Use your imagination and come dressed to the theme.

Worried about what to wear? The Tabard Costume Hire (Napier Operatic Society) have generously offered a great rate for any costume hired for this event. A $35 per person rate for costume and accessories. Just go into the shop and mention the CF Casino night to get your exclusive rate. They are at 18 Coronation Street, Ahuriri 835-8775. And if you don't wish to go, Fancy Dress, then wear whatever you're comfortable in.... as long as it’s black and white.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

Poll: 🤖 What skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑

Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?
