Firewood

Julie Neighbourly Lead from Havelock North

I know it’s only spring, weird though the weather may be lately, but have you thought about next year? Probably not.

So, let me tell you a secret. Now is the time to order your firewood delivery.

I’ve just been down to Tumu to pick up a boot load, just in case. They have so much wood at the moment that if you ordered it now you’d get it delivered well in advance of needing it, and long before demand forces the price up.

$140 for a cord delivered or 2 cord for $260. And if you get it now, you will know it will be dry for winter.

You can also buy by the boot/trailer/horse float/ute if you have a tow bar, or by the truck load.

So, give it a thought and give them a call, now, to save ending up like so many this past winter, myself included.

To call Tumu 06 873 0990
or email bins&pallets@tumu.co.nz (copy and paste the link. Hyperlink isn’t working)
or, if you are old school, fax them on 06 873 0992

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
