Over the last three decades Francis has dressed as Santa for the end-of-year celebrations at Arthur Miller School in Taradale. He also served as Santa for 20 years at Puketapu school, along with nursing homes and the odd kindergarten.

Look out for your neighbours this holiday season. Be mindful that Christmas can be a tough time for some older people, especially those who live alone. Small gestures of kindness can make this time much easier for older people who may be lonely.

Do you think we can make it by the new year? I reckon we can if we all try hard.

Check the map (It's in Invite) in your area and talk to your neighbours, family and friends. Ask them if they are members, if not offer to email them an invite or give them your invite code to join. Send your family invites. Post it on Facebook or Twitter or add it as a signature to your everyday emails or txt messages. If you give out Christmas cards you could even write it in the cards.

Lets see if we can hit the big numbers by 2017!
