We do appreciate your help managing recycling at this time. Our best advice is to store your clean recycling if you can do so safely. If not, we understand some people will need to put it out in their rubbish.
We are looking at what we can do when business resumes as normal to help with the safe and appropriate disposal of recycling.

I know the first response will be -"it would cost too much" - but that's not the issue. We have the NZDF able to go street by street, house by house, if necessary as long as we have enough test kits. The result would be able to find those with minor symptoms or those who are just carriers - what do you all reckon?

Staying home won’t always be easy. But the evidence tells us this is the best way to save the lives of other New Zealanders.
Finding our routines
It will take some time to build up new daily routines. That’s to be expected. We all need to be gentle with ourselves, and accept that things could be difficult for a while as we learn to adjust.
Looking after ourselves and others
Don’t forget to take time to look after yourself, and also to check-in on others. Asking someone how they are feeling is a good way to connect and show that you care.
We all need to stick to the plan
For this to work, and the effort we are all making to be worth it, we all need to stick to the plan, all the time. No exceptions.
Don’t move around
The virus is spread by us. So we all need to avoid moving around as much as possible. If you do go out for exercise or to get essential supplies, stay local. This is incredibly important. Don’t move between different areas.

A massive thank you to everyone for working so hard to slow the spread of COVID-19. Together, we can and will save lives.

She said that Genesis is an essential industry which it is. However its website says that it is open to serve its existing customers. So I asked the caller if I agreed to switch companies would I need to wait till the lockdown is over. Oh no, she said. All Genesis staff are available to switch you over at any time. I am appalled that Genesis is doing sales during lockdown with all the implications for their staff having to keep working on business as usual.

My opinion for what it's worth - they are putting their own families/friends at risk and by extension the rest of us - so fine them heavily (Minimum $500) or arrest if serial offenders. Why should the rest of the population be placed at risk because some idiots feel it's their right to do whatever they want at this time. Comments??
As from today the Hastings District Council will only collect general house hold rubbish, (orange bags ) .All recycling has to be stored at home until further notice. Go to www.hdc... for further information.
