Road renewal works - Lawn Rd, Mill Rd, Farndon Rd

Communications from Hastings District Council

Due to the deteriorating road conditions (including flushing, rutting and potholes), Hastings District Council (HDC) is proposing to do pavement renewal work on the following sections of road (refer locality map below):
- Lawn Road (between no 249 and Mill Rd/Lawn Rd roundabout)
- Mill Road (between no 78 and Mill Rd/Lawn Rd roundabout)
- Farndon Road (between no 405 and road over rail bridge), including Kahupātiki Marae entrance widening and improvements

The work will involve removing excess layers of chipseal, topping up road gravel, shaping, stabilising, compacting and resealing. All existing driveways will be reinstated on a like-for-like basis and made good to tie in with the new road levels.

Some minor drainage improvements on the verge will also be completed by cutting back roadside vegetation to allow water to drain off the road where required. HDC do not anticipate significant change in final road levels.

If you are a property owner in any of these areas, we welcome your feedback regarding other potential improvements that could be made along these sections of road during the project. To have your say, head to: napier.wufoo.com... or email roadingupdates@hdc.govt.nz

Please submit all feedback by Friday 22 December.
