2 Guinea pigs desperately needing to be rehomed

Cherie from Akina

I'm trying to rehome two guinea pigs. Peanut who is quite a character and Jelly who is quite timid. would rather they be loved by someone who wants to spend time with them, than exist at my house with little interaction from anyone.

It's quite hard to get photos of them but both have red eyes, one is short-haired, and one is long-haired (I think that's how you describe them).

My daughter bought them in February 2023, they were supposed to be babies but looked the size of adults. She was told they were both spayed females. We have had no babies so I know at least one of that information is correct.

I'm happy for the cage to go with the guinea pigs, it is homemade and currently lifted off the ground as the area where they are housed floods - another reason why I need them to be rehomed. I believe animals should be able to at least eat and feel the grass under them.

Cage details: Length - 179cm, width -105cm (with roof overhang 130cm), height - front of cage 79cm, back of cage 65cm

I don't know much about them but want them gone within the next 5 days.

The wind the other night lifted the top part of the roof off the lid hence the bricks holding it down but that is being fixed tomorrow.

Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
