Hi Hawkes Bay. Welcome to Stuff Motoring Top Cars for 2018. We're celebrating the best cars of the year - and one big winner. How do we make our selections? The only hard and fast rule is that we have to have tested them in our own time here on New Zealand roads.
You'll find winners for the major vehicle categories in New Zealand, as well as our choices for Sexiest Car, Top Car Interior and even Top Brand - the one we reckon has the most accomplished and comprehensive overall range of models at the moment.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
