Impostors pose as Red Cross collectors in Flaxmere

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Always check for identification and never donate cash. That is the advice Red Cross is giving after two people posed as Red Cross collectors in Flaxmere and went door-knocking asking for cash donations. Genuine Red Cross collectors will have a visible ID badge. Some may also be wearing a Red Cross jacket or cap like those pictured below.

Red Cross have responded and said real Red Cross collectors have identification on and never ask for cash. Any residents who think they've been targeted by fake charity collectors should contact Hawke's Bay Police immediately on ph 831 0700.
