Kia ora neighbours! The line's open and we're looking forward to freight trains travelling along it soon. But… trains and stock don't mix. So, please round up those wandering herds! And keep yourself and your stock safe: if you’re moving animals across the rail corridor (the tracks and land five metres either side) you need to use an approved private level crossing (with a Deed of Grant). As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
