Upcoming SeniorNet Activities

Chris Flaherty from Seniornet Hawkes Bay

Please find updated details on SeniorNet Classes, Workshops and other activities below. Remember. it's only $20.00 to join for the year and Classes and Workshops are priced to suit those of us on limited budgets.

All Things Android Group: Scheduled for this Saturday 14 April 2pm. This last session for Term 1 is postponed until next term. We will assess which day might be preferable in Term 2 as it appears Saturday is not popular for Android phone and tablet members.

Genealogy Workshops: Held on the 1st Thursday of every month from 10am. Cost $3 at the door. This very popular interactive workshop is gaining great momentum for members looking to enhance their knowledge of family history. This informal group shares ideas, hints and great tips. Gillian and her helpers are anxious to maintain that momentum and continue through the school holidays on the same day and time each month. Next Workshop is May the 3rd.

One to One Sessions: Wednesdays 10 am to 1pm. These very popular sessions will finish for Term 1 after next Wednesday 18th March. They will recommence next term on Wednesday 9th May. Look out for our next newsletter coming to your in box within the next two weeks with further detail. Call our Learning Centre on 877 2157 and leave a message in need. All voice messages are relayed immediately to a Committee Member.

Term 2: Starts Monday and Tuesday with our Drop In and Bring a Friend mornings on Monday and Tuesday 7th and 8th May from 10am to 12pm. Check out term 2 offerings of courses, workshops, special interest groups, Members Social Days, register early, chat to our Volunteer Tutors, their Helpers and Committee Members and share any ideas you have to enhance your learning experience at SeniorNet H.B.

Enjoy the School holidays starting next week. Hopefully many will catch up with family and friends and we look forward to working with you next term.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
