Following the School Strike 4 Climate, rangatahi have approached the Wellington City Council with a petition and succeeded in getting them to declare a climate emergency. This means recognising the risk of climate change, adopting aims to transition to a green economy, and applying principles of localisation and sustainability across municipal systems.
