It's our last club night for 2022 and our very own Hawke's Bay Jazz Club Big Band is playing for listening and dancing pleasure. It's at the Magdalinos Room Havelock North Convention Centre 30 Te Mata Rd Havelock North. Doors open 5pm Music starts 5.30pm. Open to all : $20 per person Cash or internet banking. School students free. Bar and Buffet meal available

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

New neighbour
Okay folks, if you feed your animals outside, you might want to rethink that. We have new nocturnal neighbours, inside Havelock North.
There is a very well fed brush tail possum up the pōhutukawa tree in my garden.
I don’t know where it’s come in from, but it’s in the middle of a residential neighbourhood, so keep an eye on your pet doors, open windows and doors and pet food.
I’ll be notifying council and DOC tomorrow.
