Hunting for McGredy Bred roses

Georgina from Karamu - Waipatu

I have the McGredy Garden as part of my garden which is full of roses bred by the McGredy family and in particular Sam IV. I know there were many more roses propagated and sold in NZ than I have found over the past 10 years and in memory of Sam IV who passed away last year I am on the hunt for more. If you know the names of your roses planted in your garden I would love to hear from you and even better if you know it is a McGredy bred rose. I can then work out if you have one I am hunting for. Any McGredy roses that have been growing in your garden for more than 10 years is of interest and if they have been there or have been propagated from plants 15 years or over would be even more exciting. If in doubt about a rose please just contact me as you might have another lovely rose treasure anyway that is worth sharing. Thank you, Georgina. georgec@nowmail.co.nz

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
