REMINDER THIS WEEKEND - THE CHEVIOT COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE
On this Sunday 14 April between 10am and 3pm. Presenting a muster of Garage Sale stalls run by local residents, selling a wide variety of items including clothing, household items, tools, books, bits and bobs, DVD's, appliances, toys etc., and lots of quirky items. No word of a kitchen sink yet but could well be one!! Venue : Cheviot Knox Community Centre, corner of Main Road and Reeves Street, Cheviot, opposite No. 8 Cafe. Bring plenty of cash or a cellphone with internet banking access.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
